Prefall is here and I am ready to start sharing ideas and looks again. I am excited to see the looks my fellow bloggers are going to share. I'm anxiously looking forward to it!

Truth be told, the heat and I are not good friends. I love fall and winter and I think winter clothes are much prettier. That is why I am always very excited and looking forward to the September issue of my favorite fashion magazines.

However, lately every year has been more disappointing than the previous. What is up with all the ads?!

Don't get me wrong, I love the pictures and all, and I get the business perspective of having all those ads, but there has to be a line where ads do not outweigh the actual content of the magazine. It feels like the issues are mostly about ads now and less about fashion articles. Another thing I particularly would love to see is more affordable items next to the designer ones, so we can mix and get inspired realistically.

I think magazines should level more with their readers and think of every young woman who is searching for their own style without breaking the bank, not encourage them to indebt themselves thinking they only fit in by wearing what they are shown.

What do you guys think?

Much love,

Kate

You Make the Outfit. The Outfit Does Not Make You.

Over the weekend, we went to the Vintage Days Fair in Long Grove, IL. I came across a booth that had very interesting and unique vintage jewelry. I wanted to buy everything from this lady!

These are the ones I ended up bringing home.

The season for brooches is coming up and pearls are always classy. These yellow ones stood out to me as soon as I scanned those tables. You can wear those with anything and stand out.
What about those lion earrings "nobody would want," as the owner of the booth said. Cute, right?!

Vintage fashion is not necessarily trendy, but always remember, it does not matter what you wear. You make the outfit. The outfit does not make you!

If you like these, you can go treasure hunting at www.daysgonebuyjewerly.com  or diane@daysgonebuyjewerly.com and Diane will take care of you!

Much love,

Kate

Really... The Real Real

Brother Vellies Kaya Shearling Pumps

Chanel Sweater

Gucci Coat
If you are like me, you are always looking for good rices online. When I came across The RealReal I was not sure if some of the things listed there were genuine, but they are!

Fashion comes and goes, but style is yours. I was a single mom for a long time and I did my best to stay true to my style while not overspending. I did not know about this place. Then I got married, but we are on a budget, and The RealReal came along. Now I can mix my vintage items with some loved pieces by my favorite designers!

At The RealReal, everything is at your reach!
Check them out at bit.ly/2vkgNDh and sign up for a $25 credit towards your first purchase.
Another cool thing about them is that you can consign designer items you no longer wear. Very easy to do!

Much love,

Kate

My Girly Obsession - Bows

Since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with bows.
Even going through my tomboy phase (8-11 years old), I still loved girly details, especially bows.
In my hair, on my shoes, my dress... anywhere I could attach a bow, there it was.
That has not changed a bit.

As soon as I walk into a clothing or accessories store, I am drawn like a magnet to the very feminine, unique things they have. Pussybow blouses look great at any age, but how old is too old to wear bows and ribbons in your hair?!
I am in my early 40s and I am still wearing them. Any thoughts?
