Fishnets and a Pink Dream

Hello everyone,

I bet some of you are watching "The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All" right now as am I!
How about that Chad, huh? I am kind of hoping they make Luke the next  Bachelor...

If you have seen some of my previous posts, you probably know how addicted I am to fishnets. I have them in nude, white, red, black and these pink ones. I also like the different designs on them. And this pink skirt is a dream! It's loose and floaty and the pink is not quite a Pepto Bismol kind of pink. It is by George and it is also a purchase from a consignment store.

I do not know what pink does to you, but it makes me feel alive. It is one of those colors that lifts my spirit and makes me feel fresh and innocent. What does pink do to you? Any thoughts?

Thank you for stopping by!

Much love,

Kate

Betabrand Pants - The Work-to-Play Look

Hello Ladies!

Many of us like to go out after work, whether it’s a casual setting with co-workers, a girls’ night out or even a date. Let’s talk about transitioning from office wear into casual wear.

Before I re-married a year and a half ago, I was a single mom, and let me tell you, I was so tired of rushing all the time!
Dating was difficult because I worked all day, sometimes 10-12 hours a day. I would have to go home, make dinner for my son and THEN get ready to go out on my date, which I was late for, more often than not. It was rush, rush, rush….

When my son was old enough to stay home alone, I learned to transition my outfits from work to a date when I had one, or to meet with friends for drinks and dinner. I would always carry a pair of extra earrings in my bag for those situations.

That being said, what do you think about pants for that transition? You can make anything look work-appropriate and date/dinner-appropriate, but what is more comfortable and practical than pants?! The fact that you can wear heels or flats with them is enough of a reason for me to have them as my number one choice on days like these. These Pants are old from the "Scandal" Collection at The Limited, but you can find similar ones in Betabrand's women's pants collection.

Reasonable prices for a polished, comfortable look.  Check it out and tell me what you think, please!

Please tell me about your look… How do you transition from work to play?

Thank you for stopping by!

Much love,

K

A Few Summer Jewerly Picks

Nordstrom Rack/Bebe

Consignment Shops/Nordstrom

Shoedazzle/eBay

                                                                                                              Forever 21/Consignment Shops

I just thought I would share some of my summer jewerly picks. Not to say that they should not be worn other times of the year, but the necklaces on the very first picture, I think, are very summery. And who does not love cheap finds?!
You can find all kinds of good pieces for low prices at Nordstrom Rack, one of my favorite stores. And of course, unique things on eBay and consignment/thrift shops. That necklace from Shoedazzle was a gift from one of my sisters.
Like jewerly, broochs can really bring an outfit from plain to unforgettable. That is another thing, like scarves, I feel that brooches cans also tell a story.
Any thoughts or pics to share?
Thank you for stopping by!
Much love,
K

My Summer Shoes Series on Instagram

Steve Madden Booties

Franco Sarto

Enzo Angiolino

Hello all!

I have been posting a summer shoes diary on my Instagram every day this summer.

I have not actually shared the names of the brands on there the last couple of days to lure you into my blog. Yes, I admit it. Pitiful.

So, the shoes I wore Wednesday this week are by Franco Sarto, which you can get at Nordstrom. And Thursday's are by Steve Madden. I love how he has all these amazing styles for reasonable prices!
Friday's shoes are by Enzo Angiolino.... I love the green and gold color combination on these!

I am running out of summer shoes and my husband is not amused!
He thinks I might go shopping when I do, but I am not planning on it. I am too excited about fall season, so I will just wait to go shopping for more then!

Thank you lovelies for stopping by and have a safe, wonderful weekend!

Much love,

K

Pre-Fall Trends - Green Military Pants?

Pants: Abercrombie & Fitch/Old T-shirt/Keds Sneakers/Jones New York handbag/Stella McCartney sunglasses

Hi guys!

So, I have been hearing a lot about the green military jacket trend, and even about the coming of the 2016 Pre-Fall navy jacket trend, but what about green cargo pants/military pants?
Please agree with me on this, like animal prints, none of these three ever go out of style.
Cargo pants are one of my favorite because they are just so comfortable! And not only that, but they look good on everyone.

Mine above are old from Abercrombie and Fitch. Very American, even when I rocked them with a Led Zeppelin T-shirt with the British flag!
Indeed, cargo pants are a very American look, which I love!
Style them with a bow blouse and you will still rock them.

What do you think? A Pre-Fall look? Yay or nay???

Thank you for stopping by!

Much love,

K

Scarves - European Summer Stories

Vintage - Animal prints

Vintage - Paris

Vintage - Paris

Vintage - Paris

Vintage - Rome

Vintage - Vienna

Vintage - Spain

I love scarves, but especially spring and summer scarves. Vintage.
I am completely taken by summer scarves that tell a story, like the ones above.

When I see someone wearing a story scarf (that's what I call them), I have to stare because I want to know what the story is. I want to ask them to undo it so I can see what the pictures tell.
And I know it is not about a story for everyone who likes or purchases scarves, that is just what it is for me.

The colors I wear on a particular day or occasion do not necessarily match my outfit, not always. I would choose to wear something that it is the complete opposite of what I am wearing, as far as the color palette goes, it is a way to take my outfit to the next level.
By the way, all these are from vintage shops. Vintage shops are a gold mine for these!

Do you have a scarf story? What's your story?

Have a happy 4th of July and be safe!

Much love,

K
